The online learning environment

for professional development in Schema Therapy

In order to give interested parties worldwide the opportunity to participate in our schema therapy training, we have created this learning platform and, with the support of the ISST and our experience with online training, successfully launched the first online-based training in 2021. Together with a number of therapists associated with the Frankfurt Schema Therapy Institute (IST-F) and others, we are now building a Schema Therapy Online Academy.

ISST Certification Couples
The schema therapy model describes how unmet core needs lead to maladaptive schemas and coping behavior. Unfortunately, schema chemistry plays an important role when we choose our partners. So we often find ourselves in the same complementary roles that we got used to in childhood and fight the former significant others in our partners by mutually “pushing our buttons” activates our schemas leading to escalating mode cycles..

Couples ST- Module System by Eckhard Roediger

The modules are meant to guide you step by step through a strategically focused therapy process with a couple. They are based on the idea starting with the mode cycle presented in the first session without a prior diagnostic phase. The full model is outlined in the book “Schema Therapy with couples” published by Wiley*. Together with the content of the book and our ST-C training workshops the modules will enable you to “start working under fire” in a surprisingly effective way.

Based on the experiences with online trainings and the support of the ISST we successfully started online-based trainings in 2021. Together with a number of therapists connected with the Frankfurt Schema Therapy Institute (IST-F) we now build up a Schema Therapy Online Academy. Our training takes the integrative spirit of Jeffrey Young one step further by adding a contextual (or 3^rd wave) perspective and body-focused work to the conventional schema therapy model in a dimensional framework according to the alternative model in the DSM-5.
