Mandy is a fully certified Schema Therapist, Supervisor and Trainer, and full member of the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST) as well as an Advanced Certified Schema Couples Therapist. Mandy brings her passion and energy for schema therapy to the classroom, enabling participants in her workshops to learn the models and techniques that will help their clients achieve the changes they desire.

Experience:

Up to 2001: Born and lived in Durban, South Africa. Gained experience in a variety of corporate environments which included working for 14 years for a leading Financial Services company focussing on setting up and developing a regional branch distribution network for investment and pension products. 1985: Completed 1 st Deg in Psych/Soc
2001: Moved to UK and commenced studies in psychotherapy
2001-2007: Completed MA (CBT) at University ofWales
2003-2012: Provided therapies & supervision in NHS (Primary & Secondary Care Settings) and a Sexual Assualt Referral Centre for survivors of rape & childhood sexual abuse
2005 onwards: Commencedjourney training as a schema therapist. Schema training for individuals with Dr Jeffrey Young, Dr Arnie Reitl & Chris Hayes and later training for couples with Dr Eckhard Roediger, Dr Chiara di-Francesco, Travis Atkins and Paul Perris
2008: Obtained Supervision Diploma at University ofWales
2008: Founded & set up Private Practice Talk in the Bay
2008 to Present: Developed Talk in the Bay Limited which now has 3 Directors & 16 Associate Therapists providing therapy to more than 120 clients per week and providing regular supervision and training to psychotherapists, human resources teams and NHS specialist nurses.. Established Affordable Talk as a community interest company (CIC) with 3 other members to enable provision of low fee and free therapies for those who cannot afford standard fees whilst also offering placements to therapists in training and newly qualified therapists.
2015: Awarded Schema Training Centre for Individuals: Schema Therapy Wales
2021: Awarded Schema Training Centre for Couples: Schema Therapy UK for Couples
